On Jesus’ gentleness:
He says: “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I
am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”
(Matthew 11:29)
See also Matthew 21:5. Or think of
examples in the gospels where Jesus shows kindness, compassion and care. Jesus
often rebukes the self-righteous religious leaders, but he shows a particular
concern for the weak, the poor, the needy and the marginalised. Remember he is
a doctor who came for those who know themselves to be sick, not for those who
think they are healthy without him thank you very much! (See Matthew 9:12-13)
