Jospeh & Jospeh

The Rev'd Douglas Wilson points out some interesting parallels between Jospeh of multi-coloured coat fame and Joseph the father of Our Lord:

Both had fathers called Jacob
Both Josephs were righteous men
Both were involved in a sexual scandal in which they were innocent
Both Jospehs had prophetic dreams
Both combined integrity and compassion
Both Jospehs went down into Egypt and thereby saved their families
Both were kingly. Jospeh becomes a prince in Egypt; Jospeh is a son of David

The name Joseph means "increase". Christ is "increase", blessing for the world.
