What a Saviour!

The mockery of Jesus in Mark 15vv30-31 is ironic.

They call on Jesus to come down from the cross and save himself.

And they say to him, “He saved others. But he cannot save himself”

Of course Jesus could have come down from the cross if he wanted to.

He was and is Almighty God.

But Jesus chooses not to save himself so that he might save others.

By going to the cross, and refusing to save himself, he saved all who would put their trust in him.
