Sick Society

Mr Cameron has said that parts of our society are not just broken, they are sick.

He is quite right. But the problem and its root cause go much deeper. The basic fault is not a lack of responsiblility: it is rebellion against God, and therefore against all authority - the family, the state and so on. In fact, all of us are sick. At the heart of the human problem is the problem of the human heart.

It seems fitting to be preaching on Mark 2:13-17 this coming Lord's Day. Thankfully, Jesus is a doctor who has come for those who know they are sick.
