The soldiers & Jesus

For now (Mark 15:16ff) the Roman soldiers mock Jesus.

But as he dies the Roman Centurion in charge of the crucifixion will recognise who Jesus really is.

Mark 15:39 says, “And when the centurion, who stood there in front of Jesus, heard his cry and saw how he died, he said, "Surely this man was the Son of God!"”
