Goodness - God Himself - Father
Truth - God's Word - Son
Beauty - God's Works - Spirit

  1. Why would you want to split them like that? I'd say it's pretty clear that all three persons are good, true and beautiful.

  2. Sure, but I wonder if it has some value and appropriateness. Perhaps we could do the same with lots of other triads - there is a oneness and a threeness.

  3. Nah. The Spirit speaks truth and leads us into all truth. The radiance of the Father is beautiful. The Son is the only one who is good. And so on. Why those three attributes, anyway?

  4. Okay, fair enough, perhaps. Isn't it a classical triad, perhaps from Plato, corresponding to ethics, aesthetics and something or other (logic, maybe), I think? I was prompted to think about it a bit by something in Zachman on Calvin, I think, but I forget what.
